Real experiences from our TRAINERS, riders, AND families

Testimonials

PJHSA is more than just a horse show circuit — it’s a community. From first-time riders to seasoned competitors, our members come together to support, encourage, and celebrate one another. Here’s what riders and families have to say about their experience with PJHSA.

The PJHSA is a lovely show series that offers something for everyone. The facilities are beautiful, with great courses, rings, and prizes at each show. The memberships are so affordable and we enjoy attending the year end banquet to celebrate a fun year with friends! It’s the perfect mix of competition while enjoying the show day with some of the friendliest trainers around. We are already looking forward to next year!

PJHSA has become our favorite series! They provide an excellent atmosphere for our seasoned competitors as well as a welcoming environment to start our green horses and young riders. The year-end banquet never disappoints with the best prizes around! Beyond the competition, what truly sets PJHSA apart is the camaraderie among trainers. It's a community where connections are genuine and support flows freely. Whether it's sharing a tip or cheering for each other's successes, the spirit of collaboration here is a breath of fresh air. This isn’t just a series; it’s a place where trainers can feel a part of a supportive network, making it much more than just competing—it's about growing together. If you're considering bringing your team into the fold, expect an environment where professionalism meets genuine friendliness at every event.

Owner/Trainer at Tavola

I first joined the Penn-Jersey Horse Show Association back in 1991 as a young rider and have felt connected to this community ever since. By 2005, I began bringing my own clients to compete, nurturing a new generation of riders who have embraced the PJHSA spirit.

Penn-Jersey is more than a competition circuit; it's a community where everyone feels like family. This deep sense of belonging is why I now serve on the board as an Exhibitor Representative, dedicated to preserving the tradition of accessible, affordable, enjoyable local shows.

We have fantastic courses, exceptional prizes, and a wonderful year-end banquet that's always a highlight for everyone. This blend of professionalism and community warmth is what makes each season so rewarding. We're really excited for what next year brings!

My daughters have been competing in the PJHSA horse shows for several years. The shows are well run and allow schooling before most divisions. There are divisions from Leadline to 3', so my kids and horses were able to move through the divisions as they progressed. The shows are held at nice facilities and very welcoming to everyone from beginners and green horses to pros and experienced riders. And, they have a lovely banquet at the end of the year with great prizes. I highly recommend the PJHSA show series.

I choose to show with Penn-Jersey because the shows are close to me and they don't break the bank. The rated shows have priced me out and are always so far from home. With PJHSA, I can enjoy competing without the stress of long travel or steep costs. It’s a friendly atmosphere where everyone knows your name, and you feel part of a community. It’s perfect for me and my horse!

My daughter and I have been showing with Penn-Jersey for three years and we love it! The fact that this level of horse showing is available to us on a local level is simply amazing. The costs are kept reasonable (especially since we both ride in all of the shows they offer!), the prizes are really nice, and the community aspect of all of the competing barns has been wonderful for us making new horse friends. The banquet at the end of the year is a highlight for my entire family and the year-end prizes they award are over the top wonderful. Everything about Penn-Jersey is top notch!

Showing at Penn Jersey horse shows offers a fantastic opportunity for our family to showcase their talents and hard work in a supportive and competitive environment. The show series fosters a sense of community among equestrians, allowing us to connect with fellow riders, trainers, and enthusiasts. Additionally, the diverse classes and well-organized events provide a platform for our young horses to shine, gain experience, and receive valuable feedback from judges. Overall, it's a really great local way to celebrate our passion for horses.  The people are wonderful and the prizes are great.  The end of year banquet is a lot of fun to attend and is the highlight of the year.

My daughter and granddaughter ride in Penn-Jersey and I absolutely love the community that I get to be a part of because of that. Every show is so well run, all the people are so nice, and it's great to get to enjoy that every summer. The banquet is a highlight for our family and I thoroughly enjoy every event they hold!
